Bird presses his haunted figures into a flattened dystopia,
curiously juxtaposed next to free-floating photographic cultural detritus. His collaged images sometimes center their
portrait subjects against swaths of abstract texture and other times drop them
into harsh urban landscapes. Either way
the people portrayed vibrate unsettlingly with electric color.
